The Digitus 600SA standalone configuration provides a totally self contained unit not requiring a PC to configure the units or to add/delete users.

The programming of the unit is performed via the keypad and the LCD display using a set of simple to use menus.

If audit trails (logs) are required, an optional logging module can be added to the system allowing you to connect the unit to your IP based Ethernet network. The module is supplied with PC based software allowing the audit trails (logs) to be retrieved from the unit and collected into a database.

The unit is supplied with a single door controller. The controller is located within a protected environment and is usually positioned out of reach as no user interaction is required with it.

The controller has a number of inputs and outputs and contains a battery to ensure the continued operation of the unit during power outages (48 hours). The various components of the controller can be seen in the standalone installation manuals.

Unlike the majority of biometric readers, all the mechanics for opening the protected door are stored within the controller.

The reader is located on the outside of the door and the controller is on the inside.

The reader and the controller communicate using a secure protocol.

When authorisation is granted, the reader sends a secure signal to the controller informing it to open the door.
