The Digitus 600NW IP networked configuration uses TCP/IP to communicate over standard Ethernet networks. This means that
the units can be plugged straight into your computer network and communicated with like any other networked device.
Each unit is assigned an IP address within the scope of your network range.
There is no limit to the number of
units allowed on any given system.
When the units operate on a network all the setup and configuration of the units
is done from the PC based software.
The PC software also acts as a central point of user registration and management.
The software is supplied with a fingerprint scanner. Each user enrolls their fingerprint at the PC and their fingerprint
template is then uploaded to each of the specified units. The user will only be granted access to the units that have been
selected for that user.
Once the template has been uploaded to the required units, each unit on the network operates
independently. That is, it doesn’t need to contact the PC to perform user verification. This means that in the event of a
network failure, the system continues to operate normally.
The software regularly polls each unit on the network
requesting any audit trails (logs) to be download and stored in the central database.
The software provides a powerful
reporting feature allowing you to see the audit trail (log) activity for whichever user and/or unit you require.
As with the standalone configuration, each unit is supplied with a single door controller.
Unlike the majority
of biometric readers all the mechanics for opening the protected door are stored within the controller.
The reader
is located on the outside of the door and the controller is on the inside.
The reader and the controller communicate
using a secure protocol.
When authorization is granted, the reader sends a secure signal to the controller informing
it to open the door.
Features List
Uses TCP/IP
Simply plug the unit into your existing network, select a PC to install the software on
and you're up and running!
PC Based Managment Software
Use the software to manage users (add them,
delete them, choose which units they have access to, etc.) Manage all the units on your network from a single place. View
the audit trail (log).
Timed User Restrictions
Provides the ability to gives users access only at specific
times and on specific days.
Anti-tamper Alarm
An alarm will sound should the unit be tampered with.
Integrated with Fire Alarm
In the event of a fire the unit can be configured to unlock automatically.
Battery Backup
Provides approximately four hours of battery backup in the event of a power failure.
Works with virtually any 12V DC Lock
The unit will work with electric strikes, magnetic locks, draw-bolts
etc. The unit will provide power for the lock; no separate power supply is required.
